The course explores a topic of central importance within the field of English linguistics/language studies (e.g. syntax, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, translation studies), or an interdisciplinary topic spanning more than one of those subfields. The course may build upon themes explored in lower-level courses. A more detailed description of the academic content will be available on the reading list at the beginning of the semester. Students will write a term paper linked to the topic of the course.
